It takes a group of people to agree on a matter of going against an existing social issue to find a better solution for that specific issue, this could be in my opinion a process of taking a direct action on a problem. What grabbed most of my attention after I watched the non-violence clip, is how the Nashville students came up with the idea of putting there tactics of the non-violence movements, which became a turning point in the history. This waken up a lot of the black community at that time, and that is what made them stood behind those students. The people who were behind these movements and protests weren't only black folks, in fact there were also white people among them. The freedom rider Jim Zwerg was one of those freedom riders whom went down south seeking justice. He faced the beating and hitting like many of his friends had, nevertheless that didn't stopped him from riding for freedom. A quote of his was " A segregation must be stopped, It must be broken down. I am a freedom rider. We will continue the freedom rides. I am not sure how we will be able to, but we will go to New Orleans no matter what happens. We were dedicated to this. We will take hitting. We will taking beating. We are willing to except that...in the south."
The bottom line of this movement was that all people are equal in the end of the day, and no one have more rights than others. This is what really translates the constitution of this great country. This clip also teaches us about a history made by a younger generation at that time, that couldn't been stopped by any one."They knew this was not to be stopped, to play with, or to be joked with"
